Aotearoa (New Zealand) has a wealth of native plants with a rich history of traditional medicinal use, however many of these plants are rarely used today. Oku was formed out of the desire to reintroduce many of these plants in a more fun and functional way for people to experience and enjoy the amazing healing properties held within our ngahere (forests) in an exciting and new range of teas and beverages.
The drink range is a fun and functional way to enjoy the unique flavours and benefits of herbal extracts such as kawakawa and ginger whilst enjoying the taste sensation of only natural juices and ingredients giving you clean crisp flavours in a sparkling base. Certainly best served chilled.
The tea range focuses on the remarkable plant Kawakawa and then builds other more contemporary herbs around it giving the teas distinct and original flavours. All herbs have been chosen not only for their flavours but also the medicine they all offer to the blend. This results in a range of teas that not only taste great but also contain some great therapeutic benefit as well.
Supporting Oku means as a consumer you are supporting the re-generation of our native bush.
